BOAT STORAGE / SERVICE FORM

SOME IMPORTANT INFORMATION

We can pick up and service your boat anytime from now through October 31st.

We do expect to be filled up for indoor storage, so be sure to get your forms in to us quickly.

Discounts for Storage:  For Indian Lake customers that choose indoor storage for a watercraft, we will give you free pickup of that watercraft if you allow us to pick it up on or before September 17th, even if we do not actually pick it up by that date. If you are a Stonycreek customer and request early pickup, we will discount your pickup fee by $48.00.

Dates for service after October 12th will incur a premium of 20% & must be scheduled with the marina.

WINTER SERVICES:  You can rely on our trained mechanics with 30+ years combined experience to properly service your boat.  The following is our recommendation based on average manufacturer’s recommendations and our experience with the way the majority of our customers use their boats:

Service                              Recommended Interval

Oil change                                     Change once per year

Gear oil change                            Change once per year or two, depends on light or moderate use of boat

Transmission fluid change            Change once per year or two, depends on light or moderate use of boat

Tune-up                                         Perform once every 2-5 years

GASOLINE:  Did you know that our gasoline is 100% ETHANOL-FREE?!? Ethanol-free gas is significantly better for your boat, and we go to great lengths to obtain it. That is why it costs more, but it will save you $$ over time.

We continue to offer the option to have your boat filled with gasoline before your boat is put into storage or before delivery to your dock in the spring. BoatUS Marine (a major boat insurer) recommends that boats be stored with their tanks filled. From their web site: “There is a twofold advantage to topping off tanks: With gasoline, it is safer because fumes are minimized, and you will also minimize the possibility of condensation in the tank.”

OFF-SEASON BOAT IMPROVEMENTS:  As always, we will be able to work on boats during the off-season, including re-carpeting pontoon boats, replacing boat decking and/or seating, vinyl-seat repairs or recovering, boat covers, and much more. If you have any major or minor projects that you would like us to perform on your boat during the off-season, please give us a call and/or send us an email prior to your boat being put into storage, and we will schedule it.

CONTACT INFORMATION:  Put as much contact info as you can on the forms, so we can reach you if necessary.

INDIAN LAKE REGATTA:  Thank you again to everyone who participated. Starting next year the Regatta will be held the second weekend of August, so mark August 10, 2019 on your calendars!  We will have all of the same events and are looking for ideas for more. Please contact us with ideas and/or to help plan next year’s events.

HAPPY LABOR DAY AND THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR ANOTHER GREAT SEASON!!!

Sincerely, Ed & Scott

Winterize *
Treat the fuel with fuel stabilizer, put fogging oil into the engine cylinders to protect the engine through the winter, add antifreeze to the engine and/or blow compressed air through the water lines to remove any water, disconnect the battery in the fall and remove the hull plug. (If your boat has non-engine items that need winterization, such as a heater, water tank or ballast tanks, you must notify us and there is an additional charge for these services.)
Hull Scrub
We treat the underside of your boat with a solution and then powerwash it off to remove all of the dirt/grime that has accumulated. The solution is completely harmless to both fiberglass/painted hulls and aluminum hulls/pontoons.
Oil Change
(Filter included): Change the oil and filter and dispose of the waste oil properly.
Gear-oil/Transmission Fluid Change
Change the oil and dispose of the waste oil properly. If we discover water mixed in with the oil in your lower unit, a gear oil change is mandatory and will be billed. If left untreated, the water would freeze, breaking the lower unit gear-case.

Additional Terms and Conditions of Indian Lake Marina, Inc. (“Marina”) Winter Storage Agreement: *
Additional Terms and Conditions of Indian Lake Marina, Inc. (“Marina”) Winter Storage Agreement: - REMINDER: YOU MAY NEED A COPY OF YOUR REGISTRATION CARD IN THE SPRING. We recommend you make a copy of your card before storage. We are happy to help you with this if you bring your registration card into the office when we are open (i.e. if you stop to buy gas or ice cream with your boat). Alternatively, take a picture of your registration card with a cell phone and send the picture to your email account. Most boats are inaccessible in storage and we cannot get your card for you. - Please provide as much information as possible to help us locate your boat. If we have difficulty locating your boat, we will charge you our shop rate for the time spent locating it. Property address is not enough. If your waterfront is not labeled with your street number, marina will label your dock for a charge of $20.00. - Storage period is from September 1, 2018 through May 15, 2019 unless alternative arrangements are made in writing. Boats remaining in storage after May 15, 2019 may be assessed a storage fee of $5.00/day. Marina will begin Spring delivery of boats as early as April 1st each year and may delivery your boat to your dock anytime after that date unless notified in advance not to deliver your boat. All boats stored at Marina are anticipated to be delivered by Memorial Day weekend each year unless otherwise instructed and/or constrained by outside events. If you pick up your boat from the Marina in the Spring, you MUST CONTACT THE MARINA AT LEAST 3 WEEKS IN ADVANCE! Because of how the boats are stored, we may not be able to immediately access your boat and may need more time to do so. - For boats that need a trailer, whether due to the service requested, weight of the boat or any other reason, and the owner does not have a trailer, a trailer will be provided for a charge of $2.50/foot for the storage period. - If we discover water mixed in with the oil in your lower unit, a gear oil change is mandatory and will be billed. If left untreated, the water would freeze, breaking the lower unit gearcase. - Service and storage fees are due at the beginning of the storage period and unpaid amounts will be assessed a 2.0% per month finance charge. If a customer is given any storage discounts, the customer’s account must be paid-in-full by December 31, 2018 or discount will be forfeited. - Not all services are able to be performed ‘onsite’. - Customer agrees to carry his own liability and comprehensive insurance and to protect against theft, pilferage, fire, windstorm, water damage, hail, rodents and vandalism. As renters of space, Marina cannot and will not be responsible. Customer shall be solely responsible for the provision and maintenance of any insurance the owner deems necessary for the protection of the stored vessel. - The storage of personal property in Customer’s unit is discouraged and shall be “at your own risk.” Customer must remove any and all food of any kind from the unit and is responsible for any/all damage to Customer’s unit and any other units damaged by food left in your unit. - Unless Customer has directed Indian Lake Marina to winterize the boat as part of this agreement, Customer shall be responsible for winterizing all components of the boat and engine. If a boat is brought in to Indian Lake Marina after the first freeze of the year, winterization is not guaranteed. - Marina may upgrade a customer to a more-expensive service at Marina’s expense and bill the customer for the lesser-cost service, but customer agrees to pay all of the charges as they indicated on their Winter Storage Agreement. - Purchase of outdoor storage (boat or PWC) consists only of the rental of the storage space. If you have a standard mooring cover for the boat or PWC, we will install it on the boat if present, but we do not guarantee its suitability for outdoor winter storage. Boats/PWC’s stored outdoors may experience substantial wind, rain and/or snow which could overload a mooring cover. - Customer will not have access to the boat during the winter storage period, unless by prior written arrangement. - Marina will have statutory maritime liens (state and federal) upon the boat, motor and attached equipment to secure any and all services and materials supplied to Customer by Marina prior to or during the term of this Agreement. Customer will not remove his/her boat from the rented storage space until all charges secured by the liens described herein have been paid in full. - This Agreement will be construed and governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Any and all disputes that may arise in relation to this agreement shall be resolved in a court of competent jurisdiction in Somerset County, Pennsylvania.
